dam:1 MONTH
At night it looks like there’s an upside-down city in the canals. Everything is rigid and built vertically but all the buildings lean. The reflections are periscopic: angled and strange. You can see the inside of peoples’ houses from the street, the boat coming down a perpendicular canal, the tram two stops down.
Until I find a space I've been making cut paper collages from a pretty great assortment of papers here. Below are 3 deemed worthy of posting:
DONE 1 MONTH: Apartment, tramcard, bike, markets, friends, home-cooked meals, yoga, getting all the right paperwork to apply for a visa, museums, 25K bike ride, seeing tiny tiny horses, works on paper, Mom visit(!), application to print studio...
TO DO: GET A G'DAM STUDIO IN A'DAM
Saw one place half an hour away in Zaandam...lots of light, could settle for it. Fingers crossed for Monday when I see a space in the port.

The collages (tentatively titled Widescreen Windows) feel more like proposals for paintings, less than final products. I really. miss. painting.
THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
Berlin, Bonn, Cologne & Dusseldorf: October 27- Nov...something, AMY BEECHER coming to visit (!), trip to Aichstetten, Germany for a special seminar in luminosity in oil paint @ Kremer Pigment's Color Mill (!!)
